KLHV - William T.Piper Memorial
2026 will be the 40th edition of the Sentimental Journey Fly-in in Lock Haven, PA (KLHV). This is America's most affordable, family-friendly fly-in; it's like a county fair with airplanes instead of cows. More than two dozen events are planned for the Fly-in and more are being added weekly. These include: three days of Spot Landing Contests; a STOL demonstration on Saturday; Young Eagles flights on Friday and Saturday for kids between the ages of 8 and 17; a Skydiving Demo; a static Hot Air Balloon demo; and an early-morning demonstration of the nimble Powered Parachute flyers from Jersey Shore, PA. Not enough excitement yet? How about a model rocket demonstration by the rocketeers from Penn State, and up to sixty kids will be able to build their own model-controlled model airplanes and fly them from the new south field runway? The Harley "Big Twin" Motorcycle club which will be here on Saturday with their amazingly noisy and shiny machines; there's the perennially-popular kid's frisbee competition, the flour-bombing competition, and the lucrative Golf Ball Drop which will be from an airplane this year (pending FAA approvals). Whew! The flight line will be speckled with unique, historic, and exotic aircraft such as an AT-6, Stinson V-77, State Police helicopter, and maybe a WACO biplane from 1934. Camp under your wings or stay at one of our many local hotels; free transportation from the airport into any location in town. Food trucks and live music every night.
