Held at Jim Wright Memorial Field, Cottage Grove, OR.The Annual Jim Wright Memorial Stearman Fly-in invites vintage aircraft from all directions to Cottage Grove each year, on the first Saturday in August. The public is invited FREE of charge to view the aircraft, talk to the pilots, and tour the History Center & Museum. Stearman planes, named after designer Lloyd Stearman, were used to train pilots in World War II. Between 12 and 15 open cockpit biplanes and other vintage aircraft are expected to land at the Cottage Grove Airport. The roar of the big radial engines on these planes is unmistakable and shouldn’t be missed! All this fun while honoring the life and accomplishments of local pilot/builder Jim Wright!!
