Join us for the discussion Winter Flying22 Part II: Pre-flighting, Ice avoidance and detection.This training will cover special pre-flighting notes for GA Aircraft and various Comanche models in particular (example fuel vents, fuel system icing possibilities easy to find on the ground but not always checked). We will discuss pre-flighting and pre-flight planning, as well as FAR 91.257(a),(b),(d) , types of ice, effects on lift, thrust, and drag, especially on aircraft with laminar flow wings and stabilators such as Comanches and Mooneys. Finally, ways to detect icing and to connect your pre-flight briefing to your decision making in the event you do detect ice despite your planning efforts..
