Pilots flying in the southern part of Phoenix frequently transition the airspace west of Maricopa. This area contain intensive glider and parachuting activity. I will review these types of operations and specific considerations in these areas for powered aircraft safety. Presented by Dr. Peter Steinmetz Dr. Peter N. Steinmetz started flying in 2015 and is a CFI in powered planes and gliders, instrumented rated, and commercial pilot in helicopters EAA/VMC Club, through the EAA's global Chapter structure, provides organized "hangar flying" focused on building flying knowledge and skills. The program's network promotes a safety culture through continued education and believes that we develop safety and proficiency through education and real life experience. Monthly meetings offer an opportunity to share in-flight experiences and valuable safety tips. Through the FAA Safety Program, aviation professionals provide informative WINGS presentations.
