KTUS - Tucson Intl
This two hour meeting is to discuss operational challenges, communication requirements, and coordination between Air Traffic Control, the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA), and all airport users of Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Field (RYN). On November 30th, TUS will begin a long construction project that will significantly affect air operations at both TUS and RYN. TUS's runway 11L/29R will change to 12/30, runway 3/21 will change to 4/22, runway 11R/29L will be decommissioned. The current runway 11R/29L will be demolished and replaced with a new runway and a center parallel taxiway. The project is estimated to last 3 to 5 years. As a result, most of the general aviation operations from TUS are asked to move to RYN. This meeting is designed to help facilitate the safest and most efficient ways to maintain ongoing communication with airport users.
