For thousands of years, people have been fascinated with miniatures and have made models of objects in the world around them. From models of royal barges found in the tombs of Egypt's Pharaohs to complex three dimensional architectural renderings, models have been used to bring the real world down to size. On March 25, Exploration of Flight will be host to a display of the modelers art, as COMMIES (Colorado Modeling Militia Enjoying Science Fiction) puts on their annual CommiesFest model show and contest. Modelers from the region will be displaying their work in 36 different categories. These categories cover anything that one can model, including airplanes, ships, cars, military vehicles, spacecraft, science fiction subjects and dioramas. Entry in the contest is open to all interested modelers and more information about it can be found at: http://www.commiesfest.com. If you have not experienced an event like this before, come see the wonderful array of jewel-like miniatures; each a part of the world brought down to table-top size.
