The introduction of a Safety Management System into general aviation will be extended with discussion of human factors. We will discuss how human factors relate to accidents. Characteristics of a Safety Culture will also be discussed. The charge for one annual inspection of a Piper Cub was $300. Can this be a reasonable charge? We will discuss expenses that may reasonably be expected for an annual inspection. A cursory inspection may return an unairworthy aircraft to service. We will view examples of inadequate inspections and learn what happened after that $300 inspection including a discrepancy that was not found. Flight Instructors, Ground Instructors, Designated Pilot Examiners, and Instructors in training are welcome and encouraged to attend. The presentation is open to all pilots.
