How to identify approaches with reduced obstacle clearance. The focus is on flying non-precision approaches using the constant-descent final approach technique. This includes reviewing CDFA and VDP calculations, and indicators that obstacles are a factor in the visual segment. Examples from around Idaho will be used to help pilots identify approaches that are more complex than they may first appear.
