Safe, efficient operation in complex, crowded airspace requires accurate communication. Accurately hearing ATC instructions and CTAF communications with other pilots is critical. Dr. Jim Lakin, FAA Senior Aviation Medical Examiner will discuss hearing in the aviation environment, what can go wrong, how to test for hearing deficiencies and the FAA s requirements.
