Everything You Need to Know About These VFR Procedures and MoreNew VFR transition routes through the San Juan (SJU) Class C airspace were publishedsix months ago. These transitions have a considerableoperational impact on SJU and Isla Grande (SIG) operations. The SUNNY, KEMMO, ECCHO and LOW OFFSHORE ROUTES are used by an average of 15,000 flight operations per year. Theyfacilitate the smooth transition of VFR aircraft through the largest and most complex Class C airspace in the region. Most importantly, they provide standardized VFR departures and arrivals for SIG operations. The SJU Tower Team, supported by the local FAASTeam and SIG Tower Staff Members, is hosting a virtual Zoom meeting with the primary goal of reviewing important operational considerations related to these procedures. We plan to share valuable data captured during these past six months with the local GA Community. We will also review other concepts related to Class C and Class D operations. If you visit the San Juan area airports frequently, plan to visit them in the near future, or are based out of them, this meeting is foryou. We ultimately aim at enhancing your confidence when operating VFR at or near these airports.
