In this session, we ll show a video of a presentation given to new Southwest Airline pilots during a case study of Chelsey Sully Sullenberger s famous 2009 US Airways flight over the Hudson River, in which he ditched the plane after a bird strike. The video explains the step-by-step decisions Sully made throughout the short flight using a mental took. A discussion will follow describing how helicopter pilots and aircrews can use the same tool, which was successful in bringing down an unacceptable accident rate at US Airways. So successful that other airlines are now adopting it. This presentation is offered at the HAI Rotor Safety Challenge at HELI-EXPO 2024. These sessions are FREE to all HELI-EXPO 2024 registered attendees and exhibitors. Attend at least six Rotor Safety Challenge sessions at HELI-EXPO 2024 and receive a certificate of recognition for completing the 2024 HAI Rotor Safety Challenge.
