KRIR - Flabob
As pilots we are aware of risk management. We manage risks through applying methodical strategies that help us identify hazards and apply the appropriate mitigations. Adhering to checklists, reviewing safety accidents, evaluating our physical and mental health, and attending safety seminars are examples of identifying potential hazards and mitigating the risks. In this discussion we will be exploring risk management strategies that come from flight testing. We will review concepts that we can adapt as tools to manage the risks of various types of flight activities such as flights after heavy maintenance, flights after an annual, and EAB Phase 1 flight testing. Concepts we will cover are: Risk Assessment and Management, General Minimizing Procedures; Hazard Analysis; As we explore these concepts, we will also discuss ways to apply these strategies to our day-to-day flying.
