Vision and hearing protection are essentials, we need to see and hear to fly. But the propeller-driven aircraft environment causes damage to both. How can we manage the basics of sound energy and its aspects in a cockpit? Seeing and hearing better makes us a better pilot. Speaker Bios: John C. Lee, MD, is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine, with a residency in Ophthalmology and Fellowship in Glaucoma. He has been in private practice for over 44 years. He formed the Midwest Sight Foundation (NFP) to help educate about blinding diseases. Dr. Lee has been a private pilot since 1963, commuting from Central Illinois to Iowa City for his Glaucoma training. Allan Schrader, founder and CEO of Lightspeed Aviation and the TIMAO Group, operates in worldwide markets in various segments. The company develops acoustic wearable systems for high-noise environments, specifically helmets and headsets for pilots that enhance comfort, safety, and the user experience.
