Why V-speeds Matter especially Vne We are privileged to present Professor Nihad Daidzic, Minnesota State University, ATP, CFI-IA, MEI-IA, CFI-RH, CFI-G to give us a true understanding of why Vne as well as the other V-speed limitations matter to all of us flying airplanes. Objective: In this 60-minute presentation, we will discuss Aeroelastic stability phenomena and speed limitations in FAR 23 and 25 airplanes. The major aeroelastic stability and control phenomena are flutter, divergence, and control reversal. Ground, wind-tunnel, and ultimately flight tests are performed to explore high-speed airplane limits. We will review maneuvering and gust envelopes (v-n diagrams) and various dive speeds (VD/MD). We will discuss how certification limiting airspeeds such as VNO and VNE in FAR 23 and VMO/MMO in FAR 25 airplanes are established.
