Checklist Items Missed If you teach in airplanes then you need to know how easily a flight display discrepancy can lead to a aircraft accident. On behalf of the Pro Tips Team we would like to thank YOU for the great job you do every day teaching! Thank you to all! Jurg Grossenbacher, FPM Milwaukee FSDO,and Nick Halatsis, FPM Minneapolis FSDO will speak on several Wisconsin/Minnesota accidents that show some holes in our training programs that we should all be paying attention to and make sure that we pass this knowledge on to our students.We will also discuss some of the areas that keep trending in the wrong direction such as Pilot Deviations to include: Pre-flight still matters Checklists still matter Final check while on runway (Heading on DG vs Runway Heading) Aeronautical Decision Making Use of all available resources Confess to ATC use CRM We need to instill that training is so important and YOU the CFI are the cornerstone to safety Do not forget the best available instructional tool is the Flight Simulator
