Pilot and photographer, Long Nguyen, will cover how to obtain weather for mountain flying using satellite images, weather radar, wind aloft, and reading the visual cues for wind. He will also discuss the basics of mountain flying: understanding rate of turn, slow flight, recognize updraft and downdraft, using various maps to navigate around the mountain, recognize the illusion of rising terrain, and flying in the valley.
