Hypoxia is a constant and insidious threat to aviation safety. In this presentation we will look at the causes of hypoxia in the aviation environment. Additionally, we will brief the ground level variables that are unintentionally brought on to the flight deck that may cause the onset rate of hypoxia to vary on daily basis. We will also examine the common symptoms of hypoxia so that one may use to identify hypoxia. Lastly, we will introduce CAMI's world famous Portable Reduced Oxygen Training Environment (PROTE) that we use to induce hypoxia. WINGS/AMT credit available!
