Integrating Human Factors into Accident Prevention
Human Factors Training Can Not Only Prevent Accidents, but Also Improve Day-To-Day Aviation Operations General aviation accidents have resulted from human factors issues. Human biases can cause pilots to ignore critical information, exceed aircraft limitations, and persist with mission plans despite compelling evidence that safer courses of action are available. Over-reliance on aircraft automation can diminish situational awareness and degrade hand-flying skill. We'll also discuss the FAA's new series of courses on Human Factors for Pilots available on-line.
