Topic of the Month Energy Management Human Factors for Pilots Today s aircraft and avionics are a product of more than a hundred years of technological evolution. We ve seen extraordinary progress in speed, range, utility, and safety. Many General Aviation pilots are flying aircraft models and navigation systems that didn t exist 10 years ago and, Industry-wide, pilots are challenged to keep up with the pace of evolution. Humans don t evolve as rapidly as technology so, as we go forward, we must consider the total aviation transportation system of aircraft, avionics, airspace system, and most importantly pilots.
