See instructions below for new security procedures for all attendees. We'll hear from aviation forecaster Dr Alex Tardy and learn how they make the weather products we see like TAFs, forecast discussions, and more. He'll also things like weather radar and some of the challenges of short term weather forecasting. Take the opportunity to ask questions and get an insight into what to watch out for in our local area. Put a face to the person who makes the product we read almost every day and learn about other weather resources you can use that you may not have thought of. Learn about the technology they use and the associated strengths and weaknesses and what can cause a forecast to change or be inaccurate which can help you be a safer pilot. Alex Tardy a San Diego NWS meteorologist with responsibilities that include:: Warning Coordination Meteorologist, Manager Emergency Preparedness and Partner Collaboration Education and Outreach Coordinator Media and Public Information Officer Skywarn Program Manager There will be time for Q&A after the presentation.
