The Empire State Aerosciences Museum will hold its monthly Fly-In Breakfast on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 8:30 am 10:30 am at 250 Rudy Chase Drive, Glenville, NY 12302 (off Route 50). Enjoy an assortment of pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, potatoes, juice, coffee, tea, fruit and more. The breakfast is open to the public.At 10 am, Colonel Dan Swift will present: The A-10 Warthog in NATO Air Operations in the 1990s. Col. Swift began flying in 1975 and was commissioned the following year through the Air Force ROTC program at St. Michaels College, Winooski, VT. After earning his pilot wings at Williams AFB in Arizona, he became an instructor pilot in the T-37 Primary Jet Trainer. Three years later he was assigned to fly the A-10 Thunderbolt 2 (Warthog) in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Swift graduated form the Air Force Fighter Weapon School Top Gun and the Air War College, served as Commander of the A-10 assigned 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, MA. He retired in 2001 after 25 years active duty.Col. Swift flew 40 combat sorties in the first Gulf War 1991, Deliberate Force in the skies over Bosnia Herzegovina 1995 and the Air War over Serbia and Kosovo 1999. He flew the A-10 for 20 years, accumulating over 3500 hours flying time. Military decorations include the Air Medal with 4 oak leave clusters, the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit.Civilian flying includes over 10,000 hours during a 25-year career at Delta Air
