VMC Question of the Month. Over what time span are visibility and ceilings averaged for an ASOS report? IMC Question of the month: The missed approach procedure for the KGON VOR Runway 5 approach (see below) reads: Climbing right turn to 2100 via GON R-062 to BABET INT/GON 5.7 DME and hold, continue climb-in-hold to 2100. Reaching the MDA and VDP at GON 1.7, you decide a missed approach is warranted. When can the missed approach procedure (climbing right turn) be initiated? We view and discuss short videos presenting flight scenarios that any VFR pilot can learn from others. Members discuss short videos and how they would respond to the given scenario. This is an open Forum for free ideas and we all learn from Shared Experience! All are welcome to join in the discussion. Please register to get WINGS credit towards your next Flight Review for attending this event. These meetings use real-world scenarios to engage members, and allow a free exchange of information that improves awareness and skills. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency. Through the EAA VMC club programs, visual flight rule pilots have improved their proficiency, and they love it.
