There has always been great discussion about vortex ring state (VRS), but what happened with settling with power? This session will discuss the differences and how to check if your helicopter has enough power to perform a maximum power vertical descent and ascent from a tight landing zone. Safety checks that can be performed during pre-flight, and in the air, will be discussed. Will the pilot feel any difference between VRS and settling with power? All these questions and more will be answered in this session. This course is offered at the HAI Rotor Safety Challenge at HELI-EXPO 2024. These sessions are FREE to all HELI-EXPO 2024 registered attendees and exhibitors. Attend at least six Rotor Safety Challenge sessions at HELI-EXPO 2024 and receive a certificate of recognition for completing the 2024 HAI Rotor Safety Challenge.
