This SOCAL TRACON briefing is being given in conjunction with the Daedalians Flight 13 luncheon meeting. All participants must register in advance with Daedalians Flight 13 San Diego Vice Flight Captain Dave Barnett by emailing davbarnett@aol.com or calling (858) 603-1441 for the meeting by end of the day Sunday 07 MAY 2023. There is a requested donation at the door for the catered buffet luncheon, which goes towards and covers the cost of the catered meal. FAA Safety Team SPANS Registration for this events is for WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program recurrent training credit only, all participants must explicitly register directly with Dave Barnett to secure a seat and ensure an accurate head count for the catered food order. Any cancelations must be communicated to Dave Barnett at least 24 hours prior to prevent a loss to the Flight from no shows. Local area pilots or others interested who are not associated with the Daedalians are most welcome to join the meeting, just be sure to register with Dave Barnett directly via e-mail as well. The event starts with a 1/2 hour social period 1130L-1200L and the opening ceremonies and luncheon begin at 1200 noon. The event typically ends around ~1400-1430L. The Order of Daedalians is a fraternal and professional order of U.S. military aviators and flight crews. About the Presenter: Rob Reddeg is the NATCA Safety Representative who conducts pilot safety outreach and ATC controller at FAA SOCAL TRACON and a former CATCC (Carrier Air Traffic Controller Center) controller aboard the Nimitz class nuclear powered-aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) during the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) and ATC in GCA (Ground Controlled Approach) in the Air Operations department aboard NAS North Island.
