A discussion hosted by aviation professional John Likakis In this seminar we will discuss "CFIT", Controlled Flight Into Terrain. If no one "plans" to fly into terrain, why does it occur? During the discussion, we will discuss CFIT scenarios (for example, loss of situation awareness, IFR procedural mistakes, and unrealistic performance expectations). Although pilots have access to more information in the cockpit than in past decades, how can this can lead to distractions and keep the pilot from flying the airplane? We'll also discuss tips to avoid CFIT and safety management. Prior to attending a safety seminar, please review and abide by current CDC, State and Local health guidelines.
