At this seminar, we will have 2 subjects combined: Interactively, we will do deep dives on en route and terminal charts to identify points of interest that are sometimes overlooked, especially in charts we think we are familiar with. The topic is most relevant for instrument students, instrument pilots, and rusty instrument pilots. Best if you have a tablet that you can pull up the charts. The key will be your active participation since this lecture is not typical. Let’s start with this question: Why are most RNAV (GPS) approaches now annotated as RNP APCH? So, please, bring with you a tablets with instrument charts; it will make it easier to follow, and discuss, if we will pull them up as we discuss the specific charts. Also: - Simply said: the turn-back maneuver or the "possible 180 turn" will also be discussed.
