From start-up to climb-out, we ve seen ATC miscommunication and misinterpretation of instructions, not knowing how to get to the runway, what taxiway and runway markings mean, how to hold your controls when taxiing and during the take-off roll, what true airspeed is and how it impacts control on the ground, aerodynamics in the air, ground speed, fuel burn, and filing flight plans. The ACS enumerates know-consider-do requirements for each of these tasks and we ll explore how to effectively teach the related concepts to help ensure your student s success.
