The Treasure Coast FAA Safety Team is proud to present Mr. Donald Doohan, Head of Maintenance at Skyborne Airline Academy in Vero Beach, Florida. Mr Doohan has been an A&P for 46 years and IA for 43 years, previously working as Director of Maintenance for FlightSafety International in Vero Beach. He currently manages a Part 145 Repair Station and a fleet of 51 training aircraft. During his 46 years with FlightSafety and Skyborne, his aircraft have flown over two million flight training hours. Mr Doohan will be outlining the importance of accurate and timely aircraft record keeping for pilots who own aircraft and those who rent. He will be addressing what records are required to be kept, and a pilot s responsibility to review those records prior to flight. He will also talk about aircraft maintenance to include time and hour inspections, Airworthiness Directives (AD s) and the critical areas to be inspected. We all want to do a quick pre-flight and get in the air--because that s the fun part. There is a major component of aviation safety which requires an indispensable participant your aircraft technician. He/she is a significant partner in safe flight.
