Play an Active Roll in Maintaining Your Aircraft and Understand What Your Mechanic is Telling You A pilot-in-command is always responsibility for the flight and must maintain control. As an aircraft owner, you should do no less when it comes to maintaining your aircraft in an airworthy state - assume responsibility and retain control of the process. If you use a maintenance facility for all or part of the required maintenance on your aircraft, it is important that you remain aware of what is happening. During every annual inspection, there are times when the owner must be involved in the decision making process to ensure they are getting what they are expecting, and to determine what's best for the aircraft. Adrian Eichhorn, an aircraft owner and an experienced A&P/IA, will discuss this topic and explain how you as an aircraft owner have options that you may not realize.
