Abilene Airport Advisory Board and Abilene Aviation Association will offer a safety meeting Thursday 19 January 2023. We will have an FAASTeam Program Manager to present part of the program followed by a discussion of best flying practices in the airport pattern and the best use of communication. Meeting will be held at the old UPRR Depot, aka Visitors and Convention Center, NW 2nd and Buckeye Aves. Will start at 1900 (7:00 PM CST) and over about 2100 (9:00 PM CST)..We have missed this the last few years because of Covid as well as the facility was used by the county government while building on the new county court house and jail. We hope that this can become an annual affair again and foster more and safer aviation in the area. If you have any concerns, bring your question(s) and we will do our best to answer same. Put your questions in writing, and even if we cannot cover everything on the spot we will try to get a response to each question. Some light snacks will be offered for the break as well as drinks. If the weather is not favorable for even drive ins, the meeting will not be rescheduled.. If you are a member of an organization, EAA, VAA, AOPA, please offer this information so that all interested may attend.
