This session focuses on how pilots, aircrew, maintainers, and safety officers can use crew resource management (CRM) principle of communication and leadership to improve culture at their unit. The instructor will talk about his experience as a safety officer and pilot, and explore a 2011 ground mishap in which a small procedural change almost led to a catastrophic failure of the main rotor. This course is offered at the HAI Rotor Safety Challenge at HELI-EXPO 2023. These sessions are FREE to all HELI-EXPO 2023 registered attendees and exhibitors. Attend at least six Rotor Safety Challenge sessions at HELI-EXPO 2023 and receive a certificate of recognition for completing the 2023 HAI Rotor Safety Challenge.
