KBVY - Beverly Muni
Traffic pattern operations can be confusing and challenging -- especially when the airport is busy and pilots are unfamiliar with the area or are just beginning to learn how to fly in the airport environment. In this seminar you will meet Mary Parsons, KBVY Air Traffic Control Tower Manager, to discuss and review tips, dos, and don'ts related to flying your aircraft in the Class D airspace and airport traffic pattern environments. The discussion will include your role as a pilot, the Air Traffic Control Tower controller's role, and ideas for making aircraft operations in these environments safer, more efficient, and less challenging. We will also review and discuss "Stable Approach" concepts and why they are important for consistently safe landings. Attendees will be given an opportunity to ask open questions regarding general aviation safety towards the end of the session.
